4-W-MM-MontenardAngels
These murals, painted by an artist named Montenard in the1940’s, are in the chapel at the base of the mountain of St Baume. According to medieval legend, Mary Magdalene traveled to France, preached and then retired to a grotto high up in the mountain of St Baume. At the canonical hours angels took her up to heaven where she could feast on the heavenly sights and sounds.
